Final week of exams: it's that weird struggle between trying to give your best because it’s all coming to a head, and lowkey feeling like abeg, let’s just be done already because it’s almost over.
If you’re currently in that dilemma, then we totally get it. And yes, we’re here to let you know that survival is possible, even now.
Here’s a simple checklist to help you survive the final days of exams without completely breaking down.
The Checklist
☐ Plan your week ahead with realistic goals
If you don’t write down your goals, how exactly do you know when you’ve conquered the week? So write it down and make it super realistic. No superhero schedules.
☐ Focus on core topics, don’t try to cover everything
This is a very objective checklist, but in all, be discerning. Not every topic is your fight right now.
☐ Use past questions to guide your revision
Very obvious, yes, but we’re keeping it here for emphasis. Don't skip this one.
☐ Eat real food (Indomie doesn’t count as a full diet)
We know it's easy and quick, but your brain needs actual nutrients. Eat something real.
☐ Prioritize sleep (yes, even now)
Your brain still needs rest to function. Don’t sleep on sleep.
☐ Practice active recall over rereading
Especially in the 48 hours before your paper. Try to remember what you’ve read, and fill in the blanks you couldn’t recall.
☐ Do a brain dump each morning or night
Just jot everything down. All the swirling thoughts. It helps clear your head a bit.
☐ Move your body, quick walks or stretches count
You don’t need to hit the gym. Just move a little. It helps.
☐ Stay off panic-inducing group chats
If all they say is: “Ah as I dey cover, I just dey discover.” “Ahan, when did they give us the material?” “Person no fit even finish this course.”
Then maybe it’s time to archive the group till after exams.
Remember:
– Choose progress over perfection.
– You’re not the only one feeling overwhelmed.
– Don’t compare your reading pace with others. Comparison will only wear you out.
– Take it one day at a time.
Exams will finally end and you’ll be free as a bird...
Well, at least until next semester
But still, you’ll be free.

Thank you! I definitely needed this
