ENTERTAINING AND EDUCATIVE MOVIES FOR EVERY NIGERIAN STUDENT

All the movies on this list were carefully selected, hence why every student would definitely learn a thing or two from each of them. Without further ado, here a list of movies that every Nigerian student should watch:
1. OCTOBER 1

This movie is a historical thriller set during Nigeria’s Independence. It is important for every student to watch this movie because it tells richly the Nigerian history and independence, through a creatively captivating story.
2. MTV SHUGA NAIJA


This is a Series that is available on Netflix and YouTube. It is a drama series about some High school Nigerian students and how they tackle issues they are faced with, as growing teenagers. It shows perfectly how many students have questions about everything and how they would get the answers (mostly wrong), if the appropriate answers are withheld. It also has high emphasis on sex education, peer pressure and real-life issues. It is a must watch!
3. CITATION

The movie uncovers the story of a university student fighting sexual harassment by her own lecturer. This movie was set in a campus environment (on OAU campus) and it passes very important lessons on students’ rights and consent, as well as how to properly address cases of sexual harassment on a university campus.
4. FAR FROM HOME

This Series is available on Netflix. It shows perfectly through a captivating story the wide gap between the wealthy and poor in the Nigerian society, and how each class navigates through their own plethora of challenges. It richly shows how real the hustle is out there and how everyone has big dreams they truly wish to actualize.
5. GROWN-ISH

The movie basically shows, through the life of a female lead character, how different college life is from the high school. All the struggles, crisis, fun and drama that comes with the Uni package.
