What if I told you that your next stunning photo could win you ₦150,000?

Yes, you heard right. The SOPHIA Campus Photography Challenge is calling all student creatives, phone photographers, and accidental photographers to take their best shot; literally!

This isn’t just another campus contest. It’s your chance to tell a story through your lens and show the world (or at least all of Instagram) the heart of your campus life.

What’s It All About?

The Sophia Campus Photography Challenge is a nationwide competition open to university students across Nigeria. The mission? Submit ONE powerful image that captures your campus story. Whether it’s the chaotic calm before the storm, the glow of sunset after lectures, or that one spot everyone loves for “aesthetic” shots, if it tells a story, it’s eligible.

From April 20–30, 2025, entries are open and the prizes are as real as your student life struggles.

What’s Up for Grabs?

• 1st Prize: ₦150,000 + social media feature + SOPHIA merch

• 2nd Prize: ₦100,000 + SOPHIA merch

• 3rd Prize: ₦50,000 + SOPHIA merch

How to Participate in Sophia Photography Challenge

1. Follow @sophia_living on Instagram and @sophialiving_ng on X (Twitter).

2. Upload your entry on Instagram and send a collaboration request to @sophia_living.

3. Once accepted, a DM prompt will pop up.

4. Send in your:

   • Full Name

   • University

   • Course of Study

   • Level

   • Proof of Studentship (e.g., student ID)

5. After your info is verified, your entry is officially in!

   
   

Behind the Judging Curtain

The top three images from each school will be shortlisted by a panel of experts:

• A photography expert (for composition and technique)

• A creative writing expert (for storytelling depth)

• An architecture expert (for structure and spatial creativity)

They’ll rate each photo on a scale of 1–5 using four criteria:

1. Storytelling – What’s the vibe? What’s the story?

2. Creativity & Originality – It’s not about the fanciest camera; it’s about perspective and artistic expression.

3. Composition & Framing – Think balance, angles, light.

4. Relevance to Theme – Your campus life, your unique story.

   
   

And then; Instagram takes over.

From May 7–14, 2025, the shortlisted images will go public for voting via likes. So yeah, get your friends, roommates, that one guy from JAMB group chat, get everyone ready.

Winners will be announced on May 15, 2025!

Why This Matters

This is more than a contest. It’s a celebration of student creativity. It’s a reminder that the moments we overlook; group readings under trees, hostel chaos, chill vibes at the faculty garden, are stories worth telling.

And whether you’re team iPhone or Android, newbie or pro, your campus has a story. Your lens can tell it.

• Don’t overthink it; look for emotion, meaning, or uniqueness.

• Natural lighting is your best friend.
