You breathe a heavy sigh of relief as you submit your question. Exam is finally over. Welcome to freedom!
Now you can let go of guilt, because you’ve earned rest.
You might have had a thousand and one things you planned to do after exams. However, now that you’re done, you find yourself not knowing exactly what to do. Well, this post contains fun, light, and rejuvenating things to do post-exams.
10 Things to Do After Exams
Sleep like a hibernating bear
All that sleep you cheated your body of throughout the semester, now is the time to actually sleep it off without feeling any iota of guilt. So sleep, my dear, sleep.
Binge that series guilt-free
You promised yourself that after exams, you’d watch the newly released season of Ginny and Georgia or Squid Game. Or that Korean series you’ve been eyeing. Well, now you can freely watch them all, again, no guilt.
Declutter your space (it helps your mind too)
Yes, we know, your space probably looks like a tornado passed through it during the exam period. Well, now it's all done, so you can declutter your space. A decluttered space is a decluttered mind.
Revisit an old hobby (painting, reading, etc.)
The semester sucked the hobbies out of you, and all those things you loved doing, well, you couldn’t do them anymore. Now, nothing stops you. You can finally pick up that novel or start writing that book. Or start drawing that image that’s been dancing in your head.
Go out, touch grass, see friends, breathe
Really, go out and touch some grass. Now that you have nothing bothering you, you can go outside, have some fun with friends, and be free.
Have a solo date or outing
Still on going out, you can decide to finally go on that outing they’ve been inviting you to. Or you can take yourself out on a solo date for your sanity.
Try something completely random just for fun
Now that you don't have to follow your old routine, since your time is more flexible, you can try something random. Something you’d normally never do. Let go, really.
Write a reflection letter to your future self
You can decide to write a reflection letter to your future self, reflecting on how the semester has been for you. The hurdles you jumped, the challenges you faced, the joys that came with it, and the sorrows as well.
Make a “what I learned this semester” list (outside academics too)
You can make a list of things you learned from the semester. It doesn’t have to be only academic. It could be random life lessons too.
Conclusively, you don’t have to “maximize” your break. Just enjoy it (at least at the beginning, for the workaholics and high achievers).Give your brain and body what they’ve been asking. Do what makes you feel alive again.
Happy unwinding.
